    I am asking what the "ev" in the name means.

    Eingetragener Verein = registered society
    "Registered" in Germany typical for taxation.
    Membership fees are usually tax deductible.

    OT: "The Brotherhood of Eternal Love" https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Brotherhood_of_Eternal_Love
    registered on advice of their lawyers as a religious
    organization for much the same reason.
    Would be advantagues in Germany too, but that
    status is hard to get here.
