• console PLOT function for APL/2?

From Curtis Jones@21:1/5 to All on Thu Dec 10 06:37:03 2020
    Jerome,
Thank you for telling us about Juergen Winkelmann's MVT for APL. That's something I'd certainly like to see at a Vintage Computer Festival!

I think every version of APL2 except TRYAPL2 includes GRAPHPAK. All the workstation versions of APL2, including TRYAPL2, use AP 207 for graphics. Since TRYAPL2 had AP 207 but not GRAPHPAK I've found AP 207 pretty easy to use directly.

But why do you ask? How would GRAPHPAK or direct use of AP 207 not be an option?
    Curtis

APL\360 has this neat PLOT function (see first page of): http://wotho.ethz.ch/mvt4apl-2.00/users_manual.pdf

Of course, there wasn't any GDDM at the time, probably just selectric typewriters. Yet someone wrote a nice "console" PLOT function, do you know of any similar initiative for APL/2 (for when GRAPHPAK or x11 graphics aren't an option).

    Thank you, Jerome.

    Hello Curtis,

I find GRAPHPAK or AP207 not very practical over the network, I often have to hop through 2-3 boxes at work to get to an APL prompt; so encapsulating x11 isn't something I'm really looking forward to; I'd rather have simple graphics, ebcdic or ascii-
    based is perfectly fine.

I found this, but I haven't tried it yet [direct link, no registration required]:

Please let me know if you run into other implementations for "console" plots.
