I would prefer a neutral site like Google Groups rather than a vendor site. comp.lang.mumps has had such a long life, and it will continue to exist even if another group is created elsewhere. I've been exploring various NNTP/Newsgroup readers/clients.
There are some free and paid choices, but not a lot. I'm curious what others have been using if not Google and how they rate it.

much better than any web-based forums, and Discord (aside from being proprietary) is way too transitory; it's much closer to IRC than
newsgroups.
