    I use Eternal September (http://www.eternal-september.org/) as my NNTP
    provider and slrn (https://slrn.info/) as my client. Works great! Still
    much better than any web-based forums, and Discord (aside from being proprietary) is way too transitory; it's much closer to IRC than
    newsgroups.
