• Updating 7.0.5 to 7.1?

From Larry Newman@21:1/5 to All on Wed Dec 16 01:15:43 2020
Could someone volunteer their knowledge of how update to 7.1? is it a matter of just foregoing the use of a current image, or what?

    hi,
biggest change i see from my occasional user/developer view is that you can't use omnibase. if you have omnibase apps you'll probably want to convert to ReStore.

Actually it *is* possible to use OmniBase under 7.1, but there are definitely some compatibility issues—the ones I'm aware of have to do with UTF-8 strings and 4-byte Characters, and there may be more. It should be possible to update OmniBase to fully
support 7.1, but with STS no longer included in the base image I imagine this is a low priority. If ODB or STS are things you're interested in I may be able to help get them working.

OK and very timely; my being still at the "this app is gorgeous" level, I have to remember to post a future thanks as well as this one!
