    It seems that there is a story from when assumed size arrays were added, that an article was written called "Astronomy vs. Gastroenterology".

    There is a "citation needed" request in Wikipedia about it, so I thought I would find a citation.

    Specifically, it is the question about using star or colon for the indicator. (That is, the specialties of those people.)

    I'm pretty sure it was an old (70s?) paper written by Walt Brainerd.
    Yes, it was the use of * and : in syntax.

    I briefly poked around but couldn't find the paper.
