Sure. It was close enough to generic code, that it could be used for that, prior to the 5.x version, when it was C-ified.

Yes. Possibly just to say "don't do this (anymore)".

    I know Clipper/DOS is old-hat ... ;)
That doesn't matter. In C# or X# it is no problem to write bad code, or to find improvement in new code.

Architectural principles, development techniques, those matter the most.

    Clipper may be 'old hat'.
    DOS may be 'old hat'.
I'm certainly 'old hat' as well.

From time to time, I need to do quick and dirty manipulation of dbase files.
I would still do that with Clipper S.87, at the DOS prompt. On a WinDoze XP machine. No problem.

    Why worry? I don't!!

Haven't looked at it in about 15 years. Likely it's awful. I'm not always conventional.
I don't recall doing anything special or fancy though. I do have a bunch of still unfinished projects, and after switching to linux earlier this year, I have decided to explore harbour.
Lots to learn and relearn. Lol
    I have no problem sharing.

Use Tmux or GNU Screen to run those Harbor projects and you turn your
    Clipper single-user programs into internet-based multi-user programs
    with session support.
