How to log request object on all error conditions like 404, 500?

I thought of posting unique id in both access log and error log so that i can correlate them to get request details.
I also tried using mod_unique_id.so and UNIQUE_ID variable where i tried to include unique id in both access log and error log format. But it is printing - instead of unique id.
I also tried Log entry id %L, but it also prints - i am unable to get Log Id which will help me correlate between access and error log
I want to log the whole request object when error occurs? How should i do it?
