    Using nginx on FreeBSD .

This has nothing to do with PHP - it's a local problem with your >>Serendipity installation.

Use a debugger like XDebug to check the code.

XDebug? What about a commnd line debugger?

    I just recalled something.

In Wordpress plugin and updates do not work internal that
admin intervention, namely me, is needed to
    to updates manually.

I am running FREEBSD stable, nginx-devel and pf (Packet filtering)

I wonder if the packet filterint could be the issue.
