I had in ~/public_html/.htaccess:
AuthUserFile "/home/robert/application/resources/.htpass"
AuthName "Strony zabezpieczone"
AuthType Basic
require valid-user
and I removed it. File .htaccess has attributes:
-rw-rw-r-- 1 robert www-data 496 wrz 27 14:07 .htaccess
and folder public_html:
drwxr-xr-x 7 robert www-data 4096 wrz 27 15:10 ./
I rebooted Linux and I see in lynx
http://localhost/~robert
that lynx STILL asks for password. I don't have other .htaccess.
I use Linux Mint i Server version: Apache/2.4.18 (Ubuntu)
Server built: 2018-06-07T19:43:03.
Does Apache remember somehere old .htaccess version?
