    That clickbait is a bit exaggerated. Besides "location history" you
    need to disable another option that allows apps to cache data in the
    Google Cloud. Weather apps and Maps (among others) can store location
    data there.

    Who set up a Google account *without* going through *all* options and disabling most or all of them?

    All one has to do is use a VPN or Cotse ssh service.

    I wouldn't put it past Google to bypass the VPN for system-related
    packets.
