In the last day or two, I see the wording that appears when it's showing adverts has changed: it used to be something like "video will play after ads". Now, it's "video plays soon". While not exactly wrong, this is not
what I think a native English speaker (US _or_ UK) would say.

I dunno, sounds okay to me (I'm a brit, but I not speak good). Maybe the >change is just jarring?
The developers don't do the localization, there are specialist teams for >that. The engineer will write a a placeholder, like VIDEO_PLAY_MSG and a >description for context "This is shown while an ad is playing". That
is sent to translators for all supported languages and locales, and then
the placeholder is replaced dynamically with the right message.
It's more complicated than that, but you get the idea.
