    Why aren’t we using SSH for everything? https://shazow.net/posts/ssh-how-does-it-even/

    `ssh chat.shazow.net` still works.

    A while ago using TELNET to connect to a database or BBS was fairly
    common. Using SSH now just reflects some updates we have got since
    then.

    $ telnet horizons.jpl.nasa.gov 6775

    Most text based protocols still look just like a specialised shell we
    could plug directly into INETD or use as shell of a real user account.
