    Hello,

I recently investigated some of my users Archive files.
And lot of them have very large files, more than 6Gb...
We would like to split those archives by year or semester.

Actually, I just create mail database on local and cut and paste
    documents between them.
I think, I could create a simple script to do so, but still it takes
    so much time.

So, I would like to know if you know a fast tool to split nsf file.

You can try NSF split tool to split large size NSF file. It allow to split NSF file using file size, date and email ID. It means you can split and save NSF files in different categories. Check here the full demo version of NSF splitter http://www.

You can try the AMR tool for IBM Notes which allows you to specify data ranges to split the nsf archive file. Someone replied to use native archiving, but this will not allow you to specify date ranges. Here are some basic steps to trick the AMR tool
to split it since by default it focuses on reverting mailbox back to a primary server or local mail replica.

    1. Create a copy of the archive on local using the "Application design only" option. i.e. archive\jsmith2014.nsf

    2. Edit your IBM Notes location and change the mail location to local.
    i.e. Mail file location: Local

    3. Edit your IBM Notes location and change the mail file to the new archive filename. i.e. Mail file: archive\jsmith2014.nsf

    4. Open AMR tool and generate archive report using "AMR Lite mode".

    5. Click "revert archives" button and specify a date range. i.e. Jan 1, 2014 - Jan 1, 2015

    6. When you are done don't forget to change your IBM Notes Location back to the original primary mailbox settings.
