Hi all,

This is probably a totally novice question, but can anyone advise what is
the most suitable animation file format to use if I want to imbed a short, looped video into a web page, so that it starts running automatically as
soon as the web page is opened in someone's browser.

In the past, I have used animated gifs, but they tended to not run very smoothly if the animation was large and detailed. I wonder if nowadays
there is a better option. It needs to be something that will display
properly in most of today's web browsers.

Many thanks for any advice. I need this for my book promotion web site. I
wnt an animation of my book, with the pages turning.
