• Is FrameFactory.py available for Ubuntu

From Nemo@21:1/5 to All on Mon Mar 20 17:24:46 2017
    Dear All,
In a german site, I found a beautiful plug-in, creating clean and elegant pictures, having inside a colored passepartout.

Unfortunately, as you can see, http://www.gimpchat.de/frame-factory-gimp-py-script/
this plug-in only works with Windows7 at 64bit. For this reason I wonder
if it was possible to use it in Ubuntu 16.04, without wine.

Is anybody so expert to modify it for Ubuntu?

Thanks in advance for any positive reply.
    Nemo

Since it's a Python script, it should work as-is.

    Hi Jernej,

    thank you for your answer.
Teorically, I though the same thing as you, but it seems, it's not true.
After inserted the pyton scrpt in the dedicated forder, I don't see any
trace of the command in Filter/Decorative/Frame Factory, neither
searching it with the Help/Plug-in Navigator.

It's a pity, because I like it very much, since the output is very professional.

    Kind rgds,
    Nemo

I installed it in my GIMP on MacOS without problems. Just dropped it in GIMP's plug-in directory and it worked. So it should work on Linus the same.
But of course your GIMP must have been built with Python support.
