• managing wineprefixes

From Marte Schwarz@21:1/5 to All on Sat Nov 5 15:13:51 2022
    Hello all,
I wonder why, in the face of winetricks, Playonlinux, q4wine, bottles
and possibly many more easier to use solutions, anyone should still
bother with wineprefixes at the lowest level?
So concretely: who uses what, which tool is the one of first choice?
In the net I read in recent contributions mainly Bottles. However, this
is probably delivered almost exclusively via flatpak, which probably
    offends some in principle.
From Lutris I've also read here only recently. Seems to be something
similar to ProtonUp. However, both are only available via flatpak, at
    least for Mint 20.3.

Can anyone here contribute practical experience in this regard?

I've been using PlayonLinux so far and it works fine for me. It provides
at least some possibilities to fix bugs when something doesn't work.
Whether it is the last word, I haven't figured out yet.

    Thanks a lot
    Marte
