    AT&T In Home Experts

This week, a majority of AT&T In Home Expert (IHX) workers in Maryland
and Nevada voted to join CWA. They are building power with hundreds of thousands of workers at AT&T and other telecom companies to bargain
good jobs and strong contracts. IHX workers across the country have
been organizing to have a voice on the job in Arkansas,
Detroit/Southfield Michigan, Illinois, New York, and New Jersey.

    Google/BDS Connected Solutions

On Tuesday, a supermajority of customer service workers at
BDS Connected Solutions, a contractor for Google Fiber, signed union
cards to join the Alphabet Workers Union (AWU-CWA Local 1400) and
filed with the National Labor Relations Board for a representation
election. Most of the workers are already dues-paying members
    of AWU-CWA.

    Raven Software/Activision Blizzard

Last Friday, the National Labor Relations Board ruled that the Quality Assurance workers at Activison's Raven Software studio, who are
organizing with CWA, may proceed with their union election. Activision
Blizzard refused to voluntarily recognize the Game Workers
Alliance/CWA, and has been using every procedural route possible to
delay the vote in an attempt to subvert the workers' effort to have a
    voice on the job.

"We are pleased that after reviewing the evidence, the National Labor
Relations Board rejected Raven Software management's attempts to
undermine our efforts to form a union. It's now time for Raven
management to stop trying to prevent us from exercising our rights. We
are looking forward to voting for - and winning - our union," said the
workers in a statement. Ballots will be mailed to eligible workers on
Friday, April 29, and votes will be counted on May 23. They are the
first unit within Activision Blizzard to form a union.

    Verizon Wireless

Workers at Verizon Express stores in Portland, Ore., have formed a
union with CWA and are seeking voluntary recognition from the
company. The workers have also filed an election petition with the
National Labor Relations Board, should the company fail to recognize
the union. The workers stand firm in their commitment to form a union
and collectively work to implement their stated values, including fair compensation, adequate staffing levels, health benefits, work-life
balance, and a safe work environment that is built on respect and
    positivity.

    Activision Blizzard

Quality Assurance testers at Activision Blizzard in Albany, N.Y.,
formerly Vicarious Visions, became the second group of Activision
Blizzard workers to form a union with CWA. On Tuesday, a supermajority
of the workers announced the formation of the Albany Game Workers
Alliance/CWA and filed for a union representation election with the
National Labor Relations Board after requesting voluntary recognition
    last week.

    Wise Connect (Lumen)

Technicians in Colorado who work for Wise Connect, a contractor for
Lumen, have been organizing for a union with CWA to fight for better
working conditions. The workers are facing various challenges
including low pay, unsafe working conditions, lack of supplies, and a
lack of dignity and respect on the job. They recently won an Unfair
Labor Practice (ULP) case which galvanized many of the workers to join
the organizing effort. The ULP charge was regarding unfair
surveillance and a veiled threat by the company to shut down the
contract if workers join the union. The technicians who are organizing
firmly believe that, by doing so, they can create a better environment
for themselves and provide a better path for future contract
    technicians at Lumen.

Hannah Borstel, a Consultant at Verizon Express in Portland who is
organizing with her co-workers to form a union with CWA, was the
featured guest for 90.7 FM KBOO's Labor Radio program. In the episode
which aired on Monday, Hannah explained why she and her co-workers are organizing a union including the working conditions that led the
workers to want to organize and fight back. During the interview,
Hannah also highlighted how being part of the national wave of
organizing among retail workers who face similar challenges has been
inspiring for her and her co-workers to keep the fight going. Hannah
ended her interview by calling on community members to support the
workers' organizing efforts and sharing the various ways they can do
so through social media and other means.

In a groundbreaking victory, a majority of AT&T In Home Expert (IHX)
workers in North Carolina chose to join CWA, becoming the first state
in the Southeast where IHX workers have formed a union. They join IHX
workers in New York, New Jersey, Maryland, Michigan, Illinois, Nevada,
and Arkansas in building power with hundreds of thousands of workers
at AT&T to fight for a voice on the job.

    Verizon Wireless

On Monday, workers rallied in Seattle to celebrate Verizon Wireless
Worker Jesse Mason's return to work. Verizon illegally fired Mason in
early 2022 in retaliation for his union organizing activity. In
response, CWA filed an Unfair Labor Practice charge with the National
Labor Relations Board (NLRB) against Verizon Wireless.

In a win for Mason, his co-workers, and fellow organizers, the NLRB
formally issued a complaint alleging the company’s actions broke the
law. After months of back and forth, Mason and Verizon Wireless
reached a settlement that includes Mason’s reinstatement at his
Seattle and Shoreline stores, as well as compensation for back pay and
    damages.
