• Ethernet over SDH encapsulation

From Ralf@21:1/5 to All on Thu Dec 6 05:39:53 2018
    Hello
I've a question regarding Ethernet over SDH encapsulation.
How works the encapsulation? Will the whole frame be packed and unpacked? What is with the CRC (FCS bytes) information in the ethernet heather? Will it be recalculated on the exit point?
    Regards
    Ralf

OK. In general GFP (Generic Framing Protocol) is used for this.
GFP is desctibed in ITU-T Recommendatiuon G.7041 (free to downlaod)

Yes, GFP-F does not change anything in the Ethernet frame.

GFP-F does not even change any bit in the Ethernet header.

    Best regards, Huub.
