• Peripheral equipments in a OTN network

From Michelot@21:1/5 to All on Sun Dec 13 08:01:15 2015
    Bonsoir Huub,

I don't know how to call a peripheral equipment in a network OTN. There are BEB for a PBBN networks, PEB for PBN networks, LER for MPLS nerworks.

The calling as 3R, OADM seem too generic to me. I saw EOTN in a document (Ethernet OTN), but it seems too specific.

    What is pleased your advice?

    Best regards,
    Michelot

There is no standard way of naming peripheral equipment, every
vendor and SDO uses its own terminology.

Although PE would be a nice, simple term...
In contrast with NE (network equipment).

3R is a regenerator, equipment generally located between NEs.
OADM is actually NE, but can also be PE...

This is a technology: Ethernet over OTN, similar to EOS (Ethernet
    over SDH).

    Best regards, Huub.

    Bonjour Huub,

You're right, I can adopt PE, simply.

    Best regards,
    Michelot
