• How to wire antique crank phones?

Is there any way to add a fiber optic wire to an old crank telephone and utilize the currently laid fiber optic phone lines in a community?

Yes but is is kind of expensive. The output would require a converter with a transmitter and receiver at each end. You need to know if your fiber is multi=mode or single mode. Elenco Fiber Optics Voice and Data Kit (you need two) with one connected to L!
of Phone and the second unit connected to L2. I would remove the local mic and the speaker and substitute the L1 and L2. The Elenco Fiber units are cheapest
way to go price wise. Substitute wall wart for batteries. The only thing I am unsure of is L1 is one side of phone and L2 is other side of line.
