    Hi folks

Our backup script has the following checkpoint command:

    ckpdb '-timeout=03:00' '#x' '#m14' mydatabase

What is the #x option? It's literally #x. Could it be some obsolete option?

The #x option enables some ckpdb tracing to a file named ckpdb.dbg.

    Hi Steve.

The #x is a debug feature. It will cause the creation of a file ckpdb.dbg ... the purpose of which is unknown to me.

    Thanks Karl, Martin.

After posting my question I did see the ckpdb.dbg file in the checkpoint directory and put two and two together.
