I purchased a new SSD external drive, but it doesn't appear when I
plug it in. Check that: it DOES invoke my virus scan (Avast), which I
run it successfully. However, from that point the device doesn't show
on either Windows Explorer or my usual file manager. Further, I opened
Control Panel and tried to see if it showed up in
Device Manager/Portable Devices. Not there, either. Please advise. TIA
