I'm taking AI at LIU and they use visirule for a project. I'm trying to
create an expert system for running a fishing boat and I created a bunch
of rules

Fluke Season is 5/17 - 9/21
Tautog Season is 10/5-12/14
Blue Fish Season All Year
Cod Season All Year
Striped Bass Season 4/15 - 12/15
Black Sea Bass Season 7/15-10/31 11/1-12/31
Scup Season 5/1-12/31 9/1-10/31
Black Sea Bass Federal Regulation 5/15-9/21 10/22-12/31
Scup Federal Regulation All Year
Striped Bass Federal Regulation Closed All Year
Ling Season open All Season

What Fish do we wish to target?
Bottom Fishing Inshore Fishing, or Game Fishing?
Bottom Fishing targets on order of priority Tautog, Scup,
Black Sea Bass, Cod, Ling
Inshore Fishing targets Fluke, Scup, Sea Bass
Game Fishing: Stripped Bass, Blues
Fishing Day or Night:
Day Fishing allows for in that order Bottom, Inshore and Game Fishing
Night Fishing: Game Fishing


How is the Weather:
A target of 20 People is for a good and profitable trip and is a baseline
figure for customer targets
If less than 8 passenger come, we don't go out.

If the weather is temperature is over 65F and not less than 20% of
yesterdays temperature then many people come.

If the Temperature is 20F less then yesterday expect 30% fewer passangers

If the fishing is hot expect 20% increase in customers regardless of
the weather

If the wave heights is greater than 6 feet, passangers can get sea sick
off shore.
If many Passangers fish inshore, or game fish inshore

If the wave heights are over 10 Feet, we don't go out.

If the wind is over 30 knots, we do not go out

If the wind is over 20 knots
and it the direction is from offshore or an Easterly Wind we do not
go out

if it is from inland or Westerly then we can go inshore fishing

if the wind is over 15 knots
and if the wind is Westerly or from Insore we can go Bottom Fishing,
Inshore or Game Fishing

and if the wind is Westerly we can game fish and inshore fishing

If Swells are over six seconds fishing can only be inshore or Game Fishing

If the Temerature is below 40F only the hardiest Fishermen come out.

If water temperature is less than 52F Degrees, Stripers can not be targeted.
If Game fishing target Blue Fish

If Water temperature is over 68F, Stripers can not be targeted.
If Game fishing target Blue Fish

If it rained 4 inches or more, Scup can not be targeted (because of the fresh
water from the rain)

If water temperature is below 45 Degrees, you can not target Scup or Black Sea
Bass.
If in season, target Tautog
If Tautog is not in season, target Ling and Cod

If targeting Scup use Clams or Blood Worms as bait
If targeting Sea Bass use Clams or Blood Worms or Squid as bait
If targeting Blue Fish in the Daytime, use Jiggs as bait
If Targeting Blue Fish at night, use eels, bunker or whole clams as bait
If Targeting Striped Bass and it is fall, use Eels as bait
If Targetimg Striped bass and string use Worms. as bait
If targeting Striped Bass with worms and no results use bunker as bait
If targeting Striped Bass with bunker and no results use eels as bait If Targeting Tautog use Green or White Crabs as bait
If Targeting Cod use clams as bait

If we catch fish we post it on the internet. If we had good fishing
Yesterday
then today we get 10% more passengers.

If it is a weekend we get 100% more passangers

If the weather is Sunny we get 50% more passagners

If it is raining we get 50% less passangers.

If Blackfish Season we get 30% more passangers

If if is between 4-1 to 5-15 and the water temperature is over 52% it is
the
spring striped bass run.

If it is the Spring Striped Bass run we get 30% more passangers.

If it is 10/15-11/15 and water temperature is going down towards 52 degrees then it is the fall striped bass run

The Striped Bass Fall run brings 30% more passangers.





And then I'm supposed to turn them into a graph similar to what visirule
would make, but it is not that simple. If it was just figuring the
seasons for available fish, that would be simple, but then you need to
figure out what weather you have and how that affects all the choices.
My example doesn't working nearly as quaintly as the examples I've seen.
So far it looks like this and I'm not happy with how it is preceeding
and I'm thinking I'm not working this problem correctly.
