    The Chair of Media Computer Science (Prof. Dr. Michael Granitzer) and the Chair of Distributed Information Systems (Prof. Dr. Harald Kosh) at University of Passau invites applications for the position of a

    Post-doctoral researcher in the field of Machine Learning and Data Mining

    starting from 1st October 2015. The position is a full time position up to 5 years with an evaluation after the first year and paid according to German regulations (TV-L 13, >3300 EURO before tax depending on your experience).
    Your Tasks will be
    - Research on machine learning methods with a focus on Deep Learning in the field of fraud detection
    - Participation in industry-funded, international research projects including management duties and the supervision of PhD Students
    - Limited teaching duties at the Faculty of Computer Science and Mathematics
    - Independent acquisition and management of research projects at national or international level with a focus on building up your own research team
    The position includes the option for a postdoctoral thesis, i.e. a habilitation degree.

    Requirements
    ============

    Applicants should have a PhD (or should be close to finishing their PhD) in computer science or mathematics and should be interested to work in application-oriented projects that bridge the gap between theory and practice. You should be knowledgeable in
    at least one of the following fields, namely Machine Learning, Data Mining and Knowledge Discovery. Experiences in Fraud Detection methods in e-Commerce would be a plus. Beneficial are experiences in the management of application oriented research
    projects as well as in writing research grants. A good knowledge of German is highly welcomed, but not a strict requirement.
