The truth about the status of The X-Files season 11 is out
there, but fans may want to believe it's merely fiction. In
an interview with Reuters, Gillian Anderson told the wire
service that another season is probably won't happen,
saying: "I think it is finished."

Anderson recently finished shooting two films and has a
regular role in Starz' upcoming American Gods TV series.

More evidence of a rocky negotiation comes from Anne Simon,
a reliable source close to Chris Carter and a science
adviser for the series. She has been keeping fans in the
loop with behind-the-scenes updates since filming for the
revival began. The scientist and college professor sent a
series of tweets to fans warning that The X-Files season 11
    may be in danger.

As much as I love the x-Files, I think this last re-boot was a fail. It’s a different world then it was in the 90’s, too bad. I miss those days, seemed to be a more simpler time.

+1 to this. It was very easy back then to buy in to the almost of conspiracy and new technology. Even places like this are so different now. Used to be post, wait, wait, wait, wait, check, nope, wait, wait, wait...

Now its all so instant and available.

I wonder if the new pair will ultimately take over as being essentially
the new Mulder & Scully, but with an increasing character depths that
are more relevent and meaningful in today's world scenario.

Making the Mulder & Scully pair as depthfully relevent now would be a
    bit ambitious I think.

Still, they could play a part as old-school 'Uncle Mulder' and 'Auntie
Scully' and bring some old-fashioned bluntness to it all. Whereas the
new characters evolve into a new, updated spirit of it all. I guess
there could be a viable future there. Hope so!
