The GDP per capita of the USA is over $80K. The GDP per capita of India
is under $3K. As long as the Republican party stops blocking immigration reform sometime soon, we're actually not in danger of becoming another
India soon. We have a bigger likelihood of becoming another Norway
(almost $100K GDP per capita.)

So how about if Tyson starts paying $20 bucks an hour to get
born-here Americans to work there. The price of chicken will
double at the grocery store and you'll start complaining about food

They probably were paying $20 or more, at that Iowa plant. People
who worked there were union workers. Do you think price of chicken
will now be two time less? That’s very unlikely, and we both know
it. What’s more likely is that shareholders will get more money
and CEOs salary will double.

century (or even older) way to deal with it. Many countries with
homogeneous societies are not importing cheap labor, even though they
have quite few poor countries near them. China, with its growing
middle class and ageing population, is not importing “indentured servants” from Bangladesh. Instead, they now have more robots per
worker than US have. Same with Japan and South Korea.
