An Alabama man faces up to 25 years in prison
after he was arrested on Wednesday for allegedly
sending threatening Instagram messages to Arizona
election officials after claiming election fraud
in the state’s 2022 gubernatorial race, federal
prosecutors said.
Brian J. Ogstad, 59, has been charged with five
counts of communicating an interstate threat by
the U.S. Department of Justice. Federal
prosecutors allege Ogstad sent multiple messages
to a social media account run the Maricopa County
Elections Board. The messages included threats
that officials will “executed for your crimes”.
