Political and media partisanship was the enemy of common sense.

A cursory examination of the Steele Dossier should have convinced the CIA or the FBI that it was fake news. Any residual doubt would have vanished after learning that its author, Christopher Steele, was an opposition researcher paid
by the Democrats to dig up dirt on Trump. That our most sophisticated government officials acted as if the Dossier were legitimate leads to only one
conclusion. They were a knowing and willing part of the Democratic and media smear of a presidential contender, and then president, that paralyzed U.S. politics for three years.

When it came to light in January 2017, just days before Donald Trump took office, the so-called Steele dossier landed like a bombshell and sent shockwaves around the world with its salacious allegations about Trump and his
supposed ties to Russia.
The central allegations, that Trump conspired with the Kremlin to win the 2016
election and that Russia had compromising information on him, were given a veneer of credibility because they originated from a retired British spy, Christopher Steele, who had a solid reputation.
BUT FIVE YEARS LATER, THE CREDIBILITY OF THE DOSSIER HAS SIGNIFICANTLY DIMINISHED.
The Dossier is a fake, but that never stopped SpermMan from peddling his lies.

and the Steele Dossier is proved more truthful.
You misspelled CLINTON and Steele.
And the media ran with the story 24x7 with so called "experts" commenting on how they knew it was
real and factual.
Schiff was all over the place claiming he had information that proved it was real.
As soon as it was revealed that Clinton was actually behind it, the left wing media dropped the
story like a hot potato.
