The Florida Board of Governors approved new rules that remove
sociology from general education core course options and
prohibit diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) spending at
the state's public universities and colleges.
The ruling happened Wednesday.
. . .
The "DEI" - that's just pure Wokie agi-prop dressed up
in official clothing.
"Sociology" ... in THEORY it CAN be a sort of soft
science - an organized way of studying past and
current human cultures. Alas it's almost NEVER been
that - instead heavily biased to trash 'western'
culture by further-left profs. The "science" is
not a science, just dressed-up in a lab coat to
give it the APPEARANCE.
Note that 'sociology' is not BANNED ... it just
can't be a required part of the core curric ...
ie you don't HAVE to take it to graduate. This
seem a fair compromise and limits propaganda
issues.
Expect the further-left to try and sneak their
stuff into OTHER courses now however ... their
strategy is relentless pressure. Gotta keep
the further-RIGHT's stuff under control too.
"Education" and political extremes are rather
contradictory.
Florida/DeSantis get a lot of left-wing shit
for "banning" letter-people books from public
schools. Again though, the books are NOT actually
"banned" as in "you will get arrested for selling
them". Anybody can buy them at a bookstore or
Amazon or whatever. The state just won't fund
"free" copies in public school libraries. The
letter-people ARE part of the "public", but they
have lately become a "more-equal" segment whose
wishes over-ride everyone elses.
