LANSING, MI — The Michigan Supreme Court said it will not weigh in on
whether former President Donald Trump should be denied access to the
state’s ballot in 2024, writing in a opinion issued Wednesday that the
bulk of justices were “not persuaded that the questions presented should
be reviewed by this court.”
Plaintiffs looking to keep the former president from the ballot were
hoping to appeal a lower court ruling from earlier this month, which ruled
that whose who appear on a state’s primary ballot is determined by
political parties and the candidates themselves.
