Whether you like Trump or not, the idea that you can be removed from the
ballot for a crime you were neither indicted nor convicted for should be frightening in America. Politicians and the media have referred to Trump's
acts as insurrection, but no one has seemed to find a way to indict him
for it. If you can't convict him of insurrection or rebellion, you
certainly cannot apply the punishment for it.

It would be much more frightening if we did not have the Supreme Court to strike it down. And they will.

If America were still a sane nation, you would be spot on. However, given
the fact that the power shift has completely moved to the side of
insanity, the operative phrase is now "The Supreme Court SHOULD strike it down." The fact that We the People act as if this some kind of legal
chess match is further indication that we are accepting lunacy as
something that should be debated, instead of something that should NEVER
be accepted under any circumstances by citizens of a free Democratic
    Republic.

True, but Trump should have chosen a better time to express his frustration rather than mix it in
    with a Christmas message.

Why would you want a known insurrectionist to be your president just
because the authorities haven't been able to convict him of his high
crime yet? Everyone knows "The Donald" is guilty as hell. LOL

Can we just hang him just like he incited his insurrection rioters to
storm the Capitol and hang his then vice-president Mike Pence? LOL

He wasn't removed for a crime. He was removed for an activity

Whether you like Trump or not, the idea that you can be removed from the ballot for a crime you were neither indicted nor convicted for

He wasn't removed for any crime. He was removed for the *civil* offense of having sworn to defend the Constitution and then having engaged in insurrection.
Note that disqualification from office is *not* a punishment. It is no more punishment than to keep Arnold Schwarzenegger or Henry Kissinger (neither one a natural born citizen) off the ballot.

Invoking section 3 of the 14th amendment does not require that the person to be disqualified have been convicted of any crime.

The fervent hope of all patriotic Americans is that Trump die in the next year and then *rot in hell*.
