When people are surveyed strictly on issues, they usually come down to
a preference for Democratic issues all down the line. But when asked
to choose between Democrat or Republican, they'll say "Republican",
oblivious to the fact that the solutions they support are primarily Democratic ones.

It is kind of a conundrum indeed. I think it comes down to people
wanting "free stuff" without regard to where the money is coming from
and who is paying for this free stuff. There are so many low
information voters who don't or can't understand the entire picture.
These are the type of people who are hooked on reality TV shows but
don't know the name of their congressperson.
Personally the more of the campaigns I am seeing, the more i would
like to see 2 different candidates both of whom are close to the
middle on major issues. I strongly suspect the democrats are going to
run Newsom and the republications will be getting behind Nikki.
Neither of which would be good for the country as a whole.
