Why the very strange changes in NG setup? Is it time to move on to other readers?

I don't use Thunderbird for NGs. I use Thunderbird for email, and I
noticed the change in this new version.

I don't like the changes in Windows 11 compared to the good old Windows
    10. I guess this is progress, and we old farts will have to learn to adjust.

I do not like it either and could not change it. Wonder if word will
get back to them to correct it.

It is good to know that others are also in the same boat.
Please be sure to post about decent alternatives that
    you find.

You may want to try Seamonkey, also from Mozilla. Personally I use
Thunderbird for email, and Seamonkey for newsgroups.

I use Thunderbird for email and the changes don't seem important. I had problems with the newsgroups on Linux and switched to pan. Pan is
available for Windows but the installer is from 2019 and is a fwe versions behind. I haven't used it on Windows.

I used Gravity on Windows years ago but I think it is frozen in 2010. It
might still work and Usenet isn't exactly cutting edge.
