Really? Since absence rumored of his death. If not true then wish him
well and health and that he is missed. I've lost too many friends this
    past year...covid is real.

    Merry Christmas all.

Really? Since absence rumored of his death.

He's alive and well, but he has completely abandoned Usenet after
having been stalked for years by a number of psychotic trolls from comp.os.linux.advocacy. As such, he locked down his domain, changed his
email address, and basically went into hiding.

He also doesn't really have anything to do with GNU/Linux anymore — the company he works for uses (and has always used) Apple — and he either
sold or gave away most of his IT-related equipment. He is now more or
less maintaining the strategy that if he can't take his belongings with
him in just a few suitcases, then he doesn't need them anymore.

If not true then wish him well and health and that he is missed. I've
lost too many friends this past year...covid is real.

I lost my sister this year, albeit not to covid — it was actually far
more tragic than that. And yes, covid is real — I myself have had two
covid infections in 2020, six months apart, almost literally down to the
day — but I chose not to get vaccinated because of my autoimmune
issues. I do however respect and observe all of the regulations, and I
rarely ever go out the door anymore anyway.

Right now, the omicron variant is running rampant over here. A few
weeks ago, we had one, then two, then ten cases in just a matter of
days, and right now, 60% of all covid infections over here are due to
    the omicron variant.

Mass vaccinations alone aren't going to stop it, and the governments
are foolish to believe that it'll do the job. Just as important are self-discipline and hygiene, and most people have less of either one
    than they believe they do.

I consistently notice, every time I go to the supermarket, that I'm
virtually the only one who disinfects his hands and his kart at the
entrance, as prescribed on a big board right at the entrance of the supermarket. While I am busy wiping my kart with alcohol and
disinfecting my hands, everyone else just passes me by and walks right
    in.

And social distance is a joke too. People pass you by shoulder to
shoulder. They just don't give a damn, except for themselves. But
then again, what else is new? <rolling eyes>

    Merry Christmas all.

And from myself as well. :)

I don't know if you ever found such a parking place, but I would be
interested in seeing or having such as his VPN scripts. When he was
working on it, I gave him some feedback he recognized along w/ that of
others in his comments section. Over the years I've done some

I had, but unfortunately, that was a small amount of free web space at

For now, I have parked his scripts on my Google Drive. Maybe I'll be
