The default perl in my live Mint 20.1 is 5.30.0.

The default perl in a current live MX Linux 21 is 5.32.1

You can get tons of more info about your perl than perl -v w/ perl -V.

Yes. It happened when 5.030.0 was in place, that it reports a lot of
    patches and addons by Deb.
It appears too that a correct way to have various perl versions is
    trough 'perlbrew' or something similar.
Anyway I'm dumb enough to need only one, but prefer recent versions so
the problem is that is somewhat incompatible with core ubu functions.
    A fix seems needed.

Must I crosspost this to debian group?

    Hi there

I installed a newer version of perl rather than 2.030
in 20.04.3 and you will be right... since it does not
have those special libs, the updates are broken again
    and again.

Someone knows how to fix this peculiarities?

    Thanks

Having multiple perl installations will be a nightmare to manage. Only
do it if you know what you're doing.

In the same vein only update perl using the standard ubuntu repos and apt/software centre. Perl 5 is very mature and stable so the recent
changes won't be noticeable to most people.

Must I crosspost this to debian group?

    No.

That 'maturity' gives me a shoot in the foot.
It's a crap package used that avoid using real perl sources.
    But thanks.

If you provide some more specifics maybe we can help?

What package? What special libraries? What's wrong with maturity?
