• OT: gmail question using Ubu 20.04

From bilsch01@21:1/5 to All on Wed Sep 29 14:25:28 2021
I have a gmail account I seldom use but I intend to start using it for
certain messages. Today on my main computer I typed
    'gmail login'
in FF browser and it displays all my gmail mailbox content on the screen automatically. I really want it to require my password before it will
access the mailbox contents like that but I haven't figured how to set
that up. If you know what I should do I will appreciate you posting the
    answer.
    TIA Bill S.

If it automatically logs you in, then that is because you have a
Google-related authenticating cookie in your Firefox directory that does
    that.

I can bring up YouTube or GMail from any bookmark in any of my browsers
without needing to log in, because I have those cookies enabled and
because I've logged into YouTube in all of my browsers. If I clear my
cookies, then I will have to log in again.

Either manually log out of gmail every time you stop using it, or set
Firefox to delete cookies when you shut it down.

At the top R of gmail inbox there is 'your' google account icon w/
initial or pic; if clicked it has a Sign out in the menu.
