• Ubuntu/LibreOffice Calc - Data->Sort->Descending

From Adam@21:1/5 to All on Mon Aug 2 13:44:30 2021
Is there some bug about Data->Sort->Descending ?

When I select ALL columns and then do Data->Sort->Descending then select
the column to sort by, it seems like the entire row does not stay
    together. My data/numbers are changing.

    Any ideas ?

I don't understand how/why you would select all columns to sort. How
    could it do that?

It seems you would select the column to sort by, then descending.

    Found one problem cell...

    =(G15-E16)

    should be...

    =(G16-E16)

    Nasty one !! :-)

To keep the entire row together. Without selecting ALL data,
only the column is sorted, right ? That's my understanding.

Is there an easier way to check for errors like this than going through
and looking at each cell ?

If you place limits on how you use a tool, it
reduces the chances of errors like that to zero.

For example, I load all the tabular data first.
I look at it, decide to sort it. After that, I start
adding extra columns to the right, with my calculations
    in the columns.

The cell references can be relative or absolute. And
that behavior is selectable on a given axis. Presumably
one of these choices is better for this, than the other.
