• A final "Dittos" to Rush Limbaugh

From Big Bad Bob@21:1/5 to All on Fri Feb 19 09:57:51 2021
As everyone pretty much knows, Rush Limbaugh died 2 days ago.

I was a pretty consistent listener to his show, whenever possible [work
being the primary reason I might miss listening on a given day].

I first heard of Rush Limbaugh when he was on TV, right around the
election where Bill Clinton won against G H W Bush. Limbaugh was the
FIRST person on TV or radio or ANYWHERE that was saying the *SAME*
*KINDS* *OF* *THINGS* that I was saying and/or thinking about Clinton,
who I believed to be a sleazy lying politician who would be trying to
advance leftism (which was true). That TV show came on after Nightline
in my area, and it was a TOTAL CONTRAST to the usual stuff that news
shows were saying, covering elections and other late night news topics.

I found out about his radio show after watching the TV show and seeing
an ad for a local station that played his show [on tape delay]. At
first I didn't know it was delayed. When I found out, I listend to it
live on one station, and would SOMETIMES TUNE IN THE DELAYED VERSION and
    hear it again.

In any case, the zany parodies and update themes (5th Dimension's
"Beautiful Balloon" as the condom update theme, for example), and a
comedic look at what was going on in politics [with a conservative spin, naturally] kept me listening for almost 30 years.

I hope they keep the show going, either with an endless parade of "guest hosts", or by bringing in someone who might be able to fill Rush's shoes...

    Like, maybe, DONALD TRUMP???

Or maybe his brother David Limbaugh. I do not think Trump could fill his
shoes and has possibly a more important roll to fill. I too listened to
him since the Clinton Era. He'll be missed.
