"One of the USA’s largest oil pipelines has been shut by ransomware"

SCADA system got cracked. It was bound to happen, warnings have been
posted for MANY years that these IDIOTS aren't properly securing their
SCADA systems, and that ONE day, someone was gonna attack it...

Now ALL OF THAT OIL is being shipped via truck, GREATLY adding to the
cost. The east coast of the USA will get to know what we've been
dealing with in Cali-FUCK-You all these years [from oil-hating gummint
dweebs taxing the SHIT out of it and making it hard to build refineries,
    etc. etc.]

"The Colonial Pipeline says it carries 100 million gallons a day of
refined fuels between Houston, Texas, and New York Harbor, or 45 percent
of all fuel needed on the USA’s East Coast. The pipeline carries fuel
for cars and trucks, jet fuel, and heating oil."

And it's been offline since May 7 !!!

"due to what the outfit described as '… a cybersecurity attack [that] involves ransomware.'"

"by Saturday the company said it was 'actively in the process of
    restoring' its technology operations."

    hopefully running again soon.

"Reuters reports that the DarkSide ransomware gang is thought to be
behind the attack. DarkSide is thought to both encrypt victims’ data and exfiltrate it to gain leverage in ransom negotiations."

Apparently DID NOT PAY THE RANSOM. For *THAT* I am grateful.

NOW - we need to find out who these FUCKING ASS HATS ARE, and "cancel"
them... preferably in a JAIL CELL, *FOR* *LIFE*.

"The gang has also shared evidence that it has made charitable
donations, and said it feels an obligation to share some of the ransoms
    it wins."

Oh, SHIT, do they really *FEEL* (fucking FEEL-TARDS, yeah) that it's
"OK" if they do that kind of CRAP? Well, FUCK THEM, those GOD DAMNED BASTARDS!!! How many millions of people will pay out hard earned $ they
CAN NOT AFFORD [meaning give up something they need in its place or go
into debt] for gasoline and heating oil and electricity made from it
(etc.) because of 'DarkSide'? They just earned a SHIT-PILE of BAD KARMA
and the ENMITY of HALF A NATION that *NO* amount of "charitable
    donations" could *POSSIBLY* compensate for.

    looks ike it's back online

    https://www.foxbusiness.com/energy/colonial-pipeline-back-online-energy-secretary-says

"The Colonial Pipeline has returned to operations following a
cyberattack that snarled gas supply for the eastern U.S. for days,
according to Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm."

"Hackers had demanded millions in ransom money – which the pipeline
operator refused to pay, enlisting help from the Department of Energy,
as well as federal, state and local authorities instead. Earlier this
week, the company had resumed partial operations under manual control, according to a Wednesday statement from Deputy Energy Secretary Dave Turk."

I'm glad they did NOT pay the ransomware thieves. They should be
caught, prosecuted, INCARCERATED, _and_ FORCED TO PAY RETRIBUTION
AMOUNTS TO U.S. CITIZENS IMPACTED BY THIS.

If they're foreign actors, whether private or govt, I believe it should be considered at the very least an aggressive act, if not an outright act of
    war.

But why-oh-why was anything related to this system reachable from the
internet? This has "stupid operators" written all over it.
