We see the rifle being picked up in the film; it's Oswald's Mannlicher >Carcano, the same rifle that Day carried out of the TSBD and that
appears in the backyard photos.
That was determined by qualified photographic experts, not exponents

Notice that Brennan is accusing Gil of lying - when all he did was
quote sworn testimony.
Brennan apparently believes that the sworn testimony is simply a lie,
and wants desperately to close his eyes to contradictory evidence.
