    The way children are fooled with the school ticker tape
    experiment.

    To cut a long story short, the force on the trolley
    is measured when the trolley is static, not during
    the drop of the weight.

    I can give a verbose description of said apparatus, but
    this would be needing diagrams to improve understanding,
    in groups where binaries are not permitted.

    It's a straw man attack used to prove the case for
    E=0.5mv^2 and gravity at 9.8m/s^2

    It proves nothing at all, and never will.

    1- there are wheels on the trolley so everything with kinetic
    energy is complicated.

    2- the drop is far too short to show any difference
    between 9.8m/s^2 and gravity in m/s per meter of descent.

    3- because there is an attachment (the trolley) the drop is
    not in free fall.

    The whole of robotics is being held back - don't even know if high end
    robotics companies still understand what was made years ago. e.g. the
    old guys have retired, and the newbies (freshouts) haven't a clue.
