    Exactly my sentiments.
I have bought ATI from 2013 on and probably every year.
I started getting disillusioned after the software and UI started becoming more complex about 2019.
I bought one more copy in 2020 when I bought into the 'won't work on Windows 10' hype.
I have been on 2020 forever now. And most copies have been a one user version for under $19 each.
My wife is running 2019 on her Windows 11 since I can't run the same copy on 2 PC's. No problem.

I'm quite content staying here. They have out priced themselves from the industry. IMHO.

That's actually how they started out. They were charging $100
but got a lot of customers because their program did a lot of hand
holding at a time when disk imaging was big but software was
    barebones.

Acronis redefined it as backup and people were happy to think
they were getting disk imaging when they were really only getting
on-disk backup. (I use 2 redundant disks for that. Poor man's RAID.)

It wasn't until years later that they
had to drop the price. I haven't seen the new product and never used
Acronis, but it sounds like the old Symantec strategy: Make it easy
and useless, then market the hell out of it, and double the price to
make it appear valuable. In fact, Symantec did exactly that with Drive
Image,a formerly popular disk imaging program from Powerquest that
fit onto a floppy. Symantec bought the rights and came out with a
gigantic backup program under the same name, written in .Net!

The above is just marketing weasel words when considering value.

As a user of both Macrium Reflect(stand-alone multi license perpetual)
    and Acronis True Image(2021 stand-alone - 5 licenses, upgrade from 2017)
    i.e. perpetual, no subscription.

    With respect to AT1:
ATI 2021 works fine on both Windows 10 and Windows 11.

ATI 2021 5 license perpetual purchase(March 2021) was an upgrade from
    ATI 2017
Cost #39.99 for 5 license upgrade
Included in that purchase - $20 Amazon Gift Card.
Net Cost $9.99 (cost per year through now[July 2024) ~$3.33 per year

The cost of ATI 2025(current available) annual subscription 5 license is $99.99
    - a 10% discount of $10 is available if chosen. First year cost
    $89.99, $99.99 per year thereafter.

Note: The last two versions(2024, 2023) when upgrading from within the
ATI application via the program link to the Acronis Store retained the perpetual license for version 2024 or 2023.
    - i.e. the cost was a one time upgrade cost, not a subscription
Using the same route at this time(within the program's Acronis Store),
the only option for ATI 2025 is the annual subscription version.

    Bottom line...at this time.
Doesn't matter whether its branded as ATI Cybersecurity or Acronis
True Image => ATI 2025(upgrade or new purchase) is not a value added
option when ATI 2021(or a previous upgrade perpetual ATI 2024/2023/2022) continues to function on both Windows 10 and Windows 11.

    With respect to Macrium Reflect:
    Macrium Reflect current product 4 computer/license annual cost(with a
    60% discount) is $79.98 per year. The one-time purchase cost for 4 computer/license(with a 25% discount) is $239.97.

Better to remain on the perpetual ATI product and/or Macrium Reflect Perpetual(or even the last perpetual Macrium Reflect Free Version
8.0.7783 which works on Windows 10 and Windows 11)

Also, there's BootIt, which I think is still $40, with no mickey
mouse rentals. But it depends on what people need. BootIt is flawless
for cloning, partitioning, disk imaging. But it doesn't do backup.
My impression is that many people view these programs as a kind
of RAID backup and don't use actual disk images.

The 2020 copy does everything I can ask of it, and have heard others ask.
It will image either disk or partition, clone a disk, backup files.
You can extract individual files from an image simply by opening an image with explorer and browsing
to it and dragging it to the desktop ie.
I've torn up my EFI partition and restored it a few times.
It will even image Linux partitions.

I don't need anything else. Cloud does nothing for me. I wouldn't trust them for antivirus, or
    some file protection either.

But they did get me way back when it was a simple imaging program, with a simple UI, and at $9.99
    prices.

    Just an fyi.
ATI 2020 created Acronis Boot Media can be used on the wife's device.
The difference is booting the media to its UI vs. running 2019 in its Windows program UI. Less
features than the Windows installed program, but still capable of creating a disk image of the
    required/desired partitions(for Win11 e.g. System, MSR, Windows, Recovery)

Note: While the former method provides the same 'image' creation though depending upon the device
and the options used when creating the Boot media may not have USB support.
; For some devices, creating the boot media selecting the WinPE option provides USB
    support(mouse, keyboard, connected external disk)

That all would drive her crazy. I've done that before when I was working on a machine would ATI on

Yes. I had Partition Magic and Drive Image. (Powerquest was sneaky,
not putting all of the functionality in either program alone.) I also
had Quarterdeck Clean Sweep, which could back up any installed program
to a portable package. Symantec reduced that to some kind of backup
program. Worst of all, I had AtGuard firewall on Win98. It was way ahead
of its time and even had an adblocker that could be trained. But the
developers licensed it to Symantec. Symantec ruined it, doubled the price, called it something like Norton Internet Security, and set over
700 default domains not to filter. So it did nothing and therefore was
never buggy or in the way.

I guess Symantec is a testimonial to what can be achieved through advertising. If you do it right you don't even need a product!

What does backup mean then to you if Bootit doesn't do backup?

What I mean is that some programs run in Windows, or have
an option to run in Windows, constantly backing up and making
that backup available if needed. A lot of people use it that way,
having no concept of disk imaging or partitioning.

BootIt doesn't do backups like that. It boots from USB or
CD, typically, and can be used to partition, create backup
disk images of a partition, restore a disk image, etc. (It's also
    a boot manager.)

I use it to make disk images of OSs that I also write to DVD or
USB -- with Windows set up and software installed. Then I
can restore that image if necessary, with most data backed
    up elsewhere.

Acronis seems to be able to make disk images of partitions, but
the general idea is a program that runs on Windows and handles
backup. Acronis doesn't support Vista and earlier. BootIt doesn't
care. It recognizes various OSs and can image them, because it's
    mainly dealing with partitions.

your God brought you out [from bondage and delivered you.]. The Lord your God will do the same to all the peoples you now fear.'" --Deuteronomy 7:19. CrowdStrike should had hired me instead of rejecting me. :P

I have a number of free & givaway tools in my armoury but the one that
does the most, without having to upgrade to a Pro version, is DiskGenius
Free Edition. Successfully cloned several HDDs & SSDs to M.2 drives.

Iirc, doesn't DiskGenius image and restore everything from a single file.
     - i.e. everything that was imaged to its image file when restored
wipes and replaces everything rather than options to restore a specific partition.

Yes, that's my understanding. All or nothing.
