• Windows-key usage has changed

From dyno dan@21:1/5 to All on Tue Jul 16 18:37:29 2024
Up until a couple days ago, I used to be able to press the Windows key
and then the letters S and L and the system would immediately move
Sleep Settings to the top of the list. Nice, since I use it fairly
    often.

But, as of two days ago, something changed. WindowsKey + SL now comes
up with one file folder as the only suggestion (GarminExpress SL).
Anything after that ( such as the letter e in the word sleep) is
flagged as "No results for "sle".

But the Sleep function IS still available. I have to use
Windows-Key+I, then select System, then select Power & Sleep.

    So why did this happen?

How do I get back to only needing two characters to get to the Sleep
    settings?

Changes that I didn't make are concerning to me.

    Thanks, Dan Z

Isn't that list you are seeing the most recent list?
If that's the case, then I'd say it's just forgotten it. You've maybe entered too many other places.

Winston, you're slipping. Clearly they've added an "I'm
feeling lucky" key and Dan is accidentally hitting it. :)

I have satisfactorily minimized this annoyance by placing the Win-10
"Settings" page on the task-bar permanently. With this I can bring up
the page, select "System" and then "Power & Sleep." I still have no
idea why this is now necessary.

    Thanks for your thoughts, folks!
