    Actually, it varies.

If Windows Update is working out supersedence, it
    can take quite a while.

You will notice occasionally, in the Windows Update
list, that updates can go back a year or more. Some
of that may be Servicing Stack Updates.

I can't really predict how long it will take. It could
be a ten minute job. Or, it could be a lot longer.

I'm still working on my crashing problem. I did a
Repair Install, and switched off updates for 35 days,
to see if I can get 35 days of peace and quiet :-)

What seems to have happened, is I'm patched to
June 2024, but a number of "features" are not turned on.
    CoPilot icon has disappeared.

I've had crashes in W10 and W11, the same crash flavor
(USB and PS/2 power goes off, can't type ctrl-alt-delete,
screen is black). I tested Linux for about half a day, no
crashes. I tested Macrium Rescue CD with an older Win10
    WinPE, no crashes during cloning.

I'm hoping this isn't a hardware failure right now.
I've already run memory test, it was clear.

I'd try an old restore point. If that works ok, then you can completely
    rule out hardware issues.

iT'S AMAZING HOW MUCH FASTER A WINDOWS UPDATE GOES WHEN RUNNING ON
    A CURRENT cp
u INSTEAD OF A FIVE YEAR OLD ONE. uPODATES AND WINDOWS RESTART US
TO TAKE CLOSE TO HALF AN HOUR, AND NOW TAKE ABOUT TEN MINUTES.

Now try turning off your Capslock key. The lowercase letters will go even faster
because there isn't so much wind resistance! :^))
