The American Association of Motor Vehicle Administrators said
the outage was due to “a loss in cloud connectivity” Thursday.

Multiple states reported disrupted services at department of
motor vehicles offices Thursday in a "national outage" that
halted license-related transactions due to "a loss in cloud
    connectivity."

The American Association of Motor Vehicle Administrators, a
nongovernmental group that provides software to DMV offices,
said Thursday: “The network that connects motor vehicle agencies
across the United States to each other and to various
verification services experienced an outage due to a loss in
    cloud connectivity.”

    The outage lasted from 9:50 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. ET, a
    spokesperson for the AAMVA said.

No it isn't. If that was true then local computers are also "a disaster
    waiting to happen".

BTW, the entire internet is "The cloud".

    Idiot.

The Cloud is not the disaster; the clients trying to connect are a
disaster. they must be using very old hardware or software hoping that
the connection will happen by chance!

To use Cloud these days requires right software and compatible hardware.

I use Microsoft Azure for business and there is no problem connecting to
it. All the machines in my Network are brand new (about 2 years old) and
the software on them are latest with regular updates.
