Now that looks like an old project.

I thought you'd given up doing that for Lent ?

    MyPlugBox
username <=== david seeks a username like "David"
password <=== if david had an account, the password value would go here

Have you ever been banned from there ? Asking for a friend.

I've phoned them up, and told them to "rotate all their passwords", just in case.

I take it, you're using a VPN now, and pretending you're in
another country ? What's the name of the VPN company, so
it can be added to the Ban List ? :-)

You know, if this silly hobby of yours involved bank vault doors,
you'd be rich by now. I'm sure of it.

I have a request from a British FB friend, named David Brooks, whom I
got acquainted with online a long time ago. He's looking for a British

to have fallen off the grid. Her screen name was Ann, she lived

lasted, but she didn't follow us into the dark side (aka FB). He's

Why would ANYONE want YOU in their “private newsgroups”? After seeing years of your stalking/sliming/harassing people in these public groups?

The whole point of “private” anything is to keep undesirable people out. You certainly fall into that category.

I’m astounded that you think anyone WANTS to tell you! These groups are probably known internally as DTD groups. As in “Don’t Tell David”.

An NNTP client can authenticate to a news server, it is not mandatory
to do so. Some news servers allow reading without access, but restrict
posting to authenticated users or to some local groups only to
    avoid/reduce abuse.

You need to configure your client, so it doesn't try to authenticate.

I just tried this with PhoNews for Android and it worked, I could read

There is no need to be astounded because people are less bothered to
look for servers when there are many around. However, I have posted a

You can give up, if you'd like. David has been banned from that server and he knows very well why. In the years since then, he periodically tries to enlist others to help him regain access, but that's not going to happen. He's not welcome there.

You're welcome. Actually I learned something new, that is that you are
able to read from some servers without authenticating.

May I ask from what part of the world you are posting?

I'm also from Germany like Marco.

There is no need to be astounded because people are less bothered to
look for servers when there are many around. However, I have posted a
request for you on "news://news.myplugbox.com/server.news" and hopefully somebody will reply. That newsgroup is very quiet. The last post was on
2nd September 2021. I have posted one now but it may not be read by
anybody. I see "Sir Rick" passed away sometime ago according to that
    newsgroup.

I didn't need an account to post on that newsgroup but the choice is
limited because the newsgroups are all created by DaveH or whoever is
    managing it.

Have you tried sending an email to: "usenet@myplugbox.com"

    It should work.

You can give up, if you'd like. David has been banned from that server and he knows very well why. In the years since then, he periodically tries to enlist others to help him regain access, but that's not going to happen. He's not welcome there.

Why don't *YOU* explain to Jack that the reason I was banned from using
that server was because I pointed out to the naive users of the server
that there is *NO* 'protection' provided to any of the newsgroup users.

EVERYTHING posted on the Plugbox server can be reviewed by the server
owner who can also, of course, use Kali or similar to determine any
weaknesses in their on-line security. My concern was/is that such
vulnerable folk, and their computers, might be co-opted into a Botnet
    and that they'd be none-the-wiser.

Sounds like Jack is a smart person. He knows who you are.

How does it feel to be SUCH an asshole? A normal, rational person would
learn something from routinely being banned from moderated discussion groups/forums. But you are a delusional, paranoid, incapable-of-learning-anything dipshit who STILL believes that people who won’t talk to you are “hiding something”.

Take the hint from Jack. You are not wanted. Try just dealing with it
for a change, instead of doing your usual stalking/sliming/harassing with a
    new target.

Will you soon be posting Jack’s address here? Posting info about his
server? Trying to find out how much money he makes?

    This MID refers, Joerg:-

    Message-ID: <q4kEM.686427$TPw2.521078@fx17.iad>

Poster 'Jack' from W10 posted a message on the 'news.myplugbox.net
server - into the 'Server Requests' group.
