    No you don't.

He gets snagged by the HTML filter on E-S, and that's why his posts disappear.

It would be some other servers, that accept those posts
and then, you would need a killfile of some sort. So
attempts at nymshifting, would only be rewarded on other servers.

As far as I know, both E-S and AIOE had fitted the HTML filter,
and you could not see HTML posts on either server. The sample
server in the picture, is a kind of dumpster fire, but is still
useful for taking some kinds of pictures. The sample server was
closed to posting, after the Small Flood some time ago. So that server
is about as useful as Mixmin is right now (another dumpster fire).
But the dumpsters are on fire for different reasons.

Depends how you filter, I guess. I don't normally see Good Guy, but he
must have nymshifted as I had to adjust my killfile after seeing today's message.

Just in case there's anyone here who doesn't know this, nymshifting is
a certain mark of someone's being a troll. Trolls nymshift to try to
escape from killfiles. But nymshifting is useless. At worst, it takes
only a few seconds and a few keystrokes to add the new nym to the
    killfile.

Ah, that's nice of ES. However, I use individual.net, so I get
afflicted by his turds each time he nymshifts until I update my filter.

I'll see if I can define an HTML filter.

Except GG nymshifted again, so yet another nym to add to my filter for
the rude boob. Paul noted ES filters out HTML-formatted articles, and
you're using ES. Alas, mine (individual.net) does not.

Since GG likes to nymshift while continuing to violate netiquette with HTML-formatted posts, I'll have to see if I can define a filter that
looks for "Content-Type: text/html;" in the body of the message. Alas,
that would filter out everyone posting with HTML, not just GG, and there
are noobs to Usenet that use their e-mail settings for their newsgroup submissions.

The injection node in GG's PATH header shows his article started at news.cyber23.de. Who the hell is cyber23? I went to http://cyber23.de,
and it looks to be some gamer stats site. No mention of Usenet service
there. I thought "Cyber23" was an album by Acid Noise (good luck on
    calling that music'; e.g., https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WJcHG9BE2-k).

    news.cyber23.de = 185.137.122.16

A traceroute goes back to a Level3 domain (in Germany). Yet a WhoIs on
    the IP address returns:

    https://www.whois.com/whois/185.137.122.16
    Contabo Gmbh (Germany)

who has an English version of their web site at:

    https://contabo.com/en

    A WhoIs on cyber23.de doesn't say much:

    https://www.whois.com/whois/cyber23.de

That shows the nameservers for cyber23.de are at he.net (Hurricane
Electric). http://www.he.net/ is an Internet provider. Still, I don't remember before encountering posts originating from cyber23.de.

These kinds of things pop up in alt.free.newsservers occasionally,
but I don't pay attention to them, as some of them are honeypots
    ("require registration").
