Probably not, but in this vale of tears nothing is certain.
You most likely _will_ get an annoying prompt next time you insert
it, telling you to repair the thumb drive. Dealing with that will
take longer than just properly ejecting the USB stick in the first
place.

I've gotten a similar message, using USB Safely Remove, a lot, and I
never knew what to do with it.
Yesterday, after all my questions in this thread, I forgot to use Forced Stop, and just unplugged it.
But you have me wondering so I plugged in the external HDD (WD Elements)
just now to see what happened, and it didn't say a word. Worked fine.
