• A PPC Port of Syncterm for my old G3 iMac

From knightwise@80:505/12 to All on Thu Jun 16 10:58:25 2022
Hey Guys, I have been looking around the net to see if I could somehow find a precompiled binary of Syncterm for my PPC iMac. I have the version for Intell systems, but i'm not bright enough to compile the source file on my PPC Mac. Any idea where I might be able to download it somewhere ? It would be the cherry on the cake of my retro experience.

What version of MacOS are you running? There are apps like MacSSH for older MacOS that are good for BBSing.. There was another one with the name along
the lines of "Black Knight", but I could have it mixed up.

I think i'm running the last version of OS9. I also have a G4 lying around with OS10. I'm not sure SSH still works on older macs. I thought the SSH keys they used are obsolete so you can no longer use them to log into modern day systems. (or am I wrong ?)

I have been doing some research and might have found an SSH client for my old mac called SSHEVEN. I'm gonna give it a twirl and see if I can get it downloaded/working. If I can use it to pipe into my raspberry pi, I'll at least have a cool looking terminal.

Well, I was recommending that MacSSH client more for its ANSI terminal capabilities. Apparently you can use it to connect to telnet BBSes as well.
