• Hub 3 intermittent today and the next 2 weeks.

    Hey Folks,

I discovered my internet was down today, and it looks like it will be down for most of the day due to a scheduled maintenance window. I know there are quite a few more maintenance windows in the next 2 weeks for my service (probably related to the infrastrucure updates they are doing to the train service nearby).

I'm online via a mobile hotspot (which is not a static address, and probably CGNAT) - so anybody who is set up for crash will get mail as soon as I receive it. Anybody else, you'll get connections timed out until I'm back online.

A while ago, I talked about a VPN service called ZeroTier that I have setup here for BBSing (we use it on TQWnet between the hubs and some BBSes, have done for a couple of years now) and I actually have it setup for FSX as well. It looks like ZeroTier happily switches over to the hotspot when my link goes down - so if you want details on how to join it let me know. With ZeroTier, you'll be able to poll in as normal to get mail.

If your home internet is a CGNAT service (and thus you cannot get inbound connections to your BBS), then ZeroTier may help you as well. Yell out if you want info...

Your Onion service for the rescue 8-)
Seems to work fine behind CGNAT.

It is now after I changed to another ISP. I will fire up my onion service for incoming connections again. Not a big fan of ZeroTier for FTN.
